Graduate and Undergraduate Degree Programs

The graduate M.S. (Master of Science) degree program is designed to prepare students to become certified and licensed speech-language pathologists and/or pursue doctoral degrees at other institutions. The graduate program is fully accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Students can choose to prepare for careers as speech-language pathologists in public schools, health care settings, universities or private practice.

The undergraduate B.S. (Bachelor of Science) degree program is a pre-professional program designed to prepare students for graduate studies in speech pathology or audiology. Students interested in a speech pathology and audiology major should contact the Department at (615) 963-7081.

The Department also has a special program for persons who have undergraduate degrees in other fields, but who wish to complete the M.S. degree and become speech-language pathologists.
